Who else is sick and tired of anonymous calls coming in to your home or cell phone? In these days of hard economic times…..are you behind on your bills and simply AFRAID to even answer your phone due to all of the unlisted, private or “blocked” digits that show up on your caller ID? Honestly? When I first heard of a few of these services, I had NO idea what they could (or could NOT) do. But after getting barraged by a veritable cacophony of calls from a mess of numbers I did NOT recognize (but assumed were all roughly the same person or persons due to the area code) I finally let my curiosity get the best of me and ran the digits through one of these services. Not only was the number recognized immediately…..but a whole host of other important information was shared with ME, about THEM, that was extremely enlightening to say the least..:-)

In this case it was simply a company on the West Coast (I live on the East) who was trying to collect a very old debt they had bought from a credit card I owned when I was 24. And for such a small amount of money…and a debt that wasn’t even theirs, they were NOT shy about calling me 18 times a day, I can promise you that..:-)
The Bottom Line?
I got their physical address RIGHT from the phone detective service, and sent them a certified letter instructing them to NEVER bother me again by phone….and to sue me if they wanted their money. (it was a few hundred dollars and over 10 years old, and I knew this was a threat that would work!) I never heard from them again…and I was finally able to STOP worrying about trying to figure out who was calling me at 8am in the morning…..and AGAIN and again all day long!
